Should the Electoral College Be Eliminated? 15 States Are Trying to Make it Obsolete

I think this line says it all,

On the state House floor, one legislator suggested renaming the measure the “We Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Hate Donald Trump Act of 2019.”

It has nothing to do with governing, but a hyper-emotional reaction to the fact their candidate lost.

I hope it doesn’t go thru.  Otherwise I might as well stop voting.  It won’t count for anything unless you’ve got a NYC, LA, or other such like that in your state.  Even then, it won’t count unless you feel that Big Urban concerns line up with your concerns.  They usually do not line up with my rural concerns.

“Fair Representation” is not completely based on how many vote.  Representation has to account for all the districts to some extent….like the ones who feed the nation.  It’s a concept that can be difficult to explain…..especially when someone has not understood why the Founders did the Electoral College [stupid name, btw]  in the first place.  Many high schools are failing to ensure that knowledge is not lost.

    Well said.
Then again, most Americans dont understand how the Electoral College works in the first place or why it was created.
