ParticipantHi guys, I am wondering with the lack of these 2 setups in my other gym (hit 2 different gyms depending on where I have to work)
My gym at home has chest supported tbar rows and a special bench for seal rows but my other gym hasnt.
I saw a video of Kabuki Strength (yt under seal rows alternative) where they move the bench to an incline then lean their chest on the head end and do bb rows like this, they do the “lat” version of it but is this also a good way to do the version where you hit the upper back leaning like this? Is this also some kind of chest support row then?
Any recommendations otherwise on this aspect? -

Try using the smith machine where you lean forward pulling the weight up to you. If you’ve got long arms like me you might need a elevated platform to help. You can use a step or the box
Without knowing what you’ve got available it’s hard to say what to do to replace it.

ParticipantI have never tried seal rows, but aside from losing the element of a bit of body english, it sure looks like any other form of row. Rows are great, whether: chest supported machine rows, machine rows without chest support, dumbbell rows with knee and hand on a bench, inverted rows up to a bar supported in a squat rack, inverted rows with a TRX, seated cable rows, bent over barbell rows with the standard overhand grip, bent over rows with an reversed (supinated) grip (I think we used to call those Yates rows), or holding a bar using a landmine apparatus (or the bar just shoved into the corner of the room).
The point is, it’s all just a version of a row.
If you’re an amateur or professional bodybuilder, it might matter which you choose (probably opt for 2 versions and alternate which version you use on which workout), but if you’re just training for fitness and physical capability, I wouldn’t let it bug you.-

You nailed it on the last line. If it’s for physical fitness there’s way more options and less supported stuff
