Less heat is being transported out of the mid Atlantic and up to the AMOC point (where the water sinks to the bottom and flows back after cooling).
Means a hotter Atlantic. Storms get stronger. And we’ve had some doozies in the last few years.
Means a cooler northeastern US coastline (less heat incoming up there). Bigger snowstorms. Smaller heat differential means slower weather patterns, so the storms stick around longer. Sound familiar?
