I didn’t go ON grid till 1987, and then, because running welders, milling machines and air compressors sucks up a lot of juice.
Before then, wilderness living in an old school bus as a tree planter, quit at 1 million trees and bought land, built shop, then an actual house.
All water supply is solar now. -
