Hello from the state of Ohio…not my favorite place in the world, but I was born here, spent most of my life elsewhere, but will probably die here. At least the wife and I found some digs out in farm country that is probably as sustainable and survivable as one can find in these parts. But, as a little oasis of rural surrounded by a raging sea of urban/suburban/exburban, I have no illusions about not being overrun by MZBs if S ever really HTF. Oh well, entering my 6th decade on this earth, I am too tired and stubborn to bug out or run and hide. There is a kind of peace that comes from knowing you’re living in your Alamo. 😉

Anyway, being an old Marine, I hope you don’t take my crotchetyness too seriously…some of it is just playing the part, some of it is the real me, lord help me if anyone, including my family, ever figure out which is which!

PS Thanks for this forum Daisy (imagine an old hillbilly bassett hound drawling Daayyzzee when I type your name, darlin)…I really appreciate it.

Nice to meet ya, Swamp Fox. I guess I can’t talk about the stars and bars I proudly display as a big ole American Bird to political correctness in this forum…but I am sure we’ll have some fun in the appropriate venue! Semper fi, brother.

Hai, domo arigato, Annaraven. Excuse me, but what little Japanese I learned is old and limited to what I needed to get by over 30 years ago during a couple of six-month stints in Iwakuni…and 3 years in Hawaii where it’s better to know a little Nihon along with some Pidgen. 😉
