    I vote but I don’t believe it really counts. One person, one vote, is how it should be. As long as there is an outdated biased electoral college, helped out by gerrymandering, supported by the courts, I will have little to no faith.

      The electoral system was implemented to protect the minority from the majority. I personally would endorse its use in state elections. Northern Virginia calls the tune the rest of us must dance to and I’m sick of it!

      If you prefer California and New York deciding for the rest of us, then have your “one man, one vote”. It would be a disaster.

    I dunno.
    I think the architects of the Constitution had the forethought of the electoral college to prevent turning this into a popularity contest.

    I understand it’s purpose in the beginning. Our country was much different then and it served a good purpose but things have changed. Now there are factions of people who are twisting elections, gerrymandering voters, completely upsetting the balance so that they are always winning, always in control, always in power. The courts are finally starting to stand up to this, but as long as there is a way to rig the system, they will do it.

    Crazy,
    One man, one vote has worked so well in Rhodesia and South Africa.

    One man, one vote means that half a dozen counties across the US could be making national decisions for all of us. And I don’t think any of them care about Wyoming, or anywhere they don’t live.

    The electoral college was instituted to prevent the popular vote from destroying the Republic.

    How many dictators and despots had the popular vote? Hitler? Mugabe? And so on.

    The people seizing land in SA were elected by popular vote. Same for those calling for genocide.

    Ask the sheep about his vote on dinner when he is alone with the wolves.

    Sorry but the founding fathers nailed it down pretty well and people trying to change things had better look closely at what they are trying to change and why the words were laid down as they were.

    @James,
    I would . . . vote for that!
    Those of us in the Up State get tired of having NYC dictate to us what to think and pay in taxes.
