This is one I carry and have had for years. It’s slow but gets my phone and radios charged when out hunting etc.
What do y’all carry?

Atypical Sapien
ParticipantI have the exact same model. It works well for most of what I do. I keep it with me when on the boat and primarily use the pre-charged batteries. It goes with me when I take a motorcycle or car trip. At 17.1 oz, I can not justify carrying it in my backpack. I have other battery packs that weigh around 4oz. that are part of my get home bag and backpack gear.
Last year I went to a gathering and did some car camping for the long weekend. I carried a deep cycle battery, an inverter and had a Northern tools Ironton 12volt Amorphous charger for the battery. They come in 2 packs. Currently the price is $44.00 I bought several boxes a few years ago for less than $30 on sale. I keep one permanently on the boat to charge the battery, one mounted on the golf cart to charge the LED lights battery.
FWIW: One small battery pack will run a cheap USB desk fan for many hours. One kept the tent cooler during the hot nights of the gathering.

I also have this that I use as well. It’s much lighter like you say but not able to recharge itself as I sit and hunt.
it’s very good at charging cell phones and our radios

His answer:
“Well it’s 12v batteries so connectors for the battery posts, a 12v car plug with stripped wires, a 12v to usb plug, and a usb AA battery charger.
If it was me I would probably buy one of those 12v car plug splitters, with multiple usbs and 12v plugs, cut the 12v male end off of it and strip the wires, put on the right connectors.“

ParticipantI use power film https://www.powerfilmsolar.com/
It is soft and rolls up…it does not fold well. I have one big enough to roll down back of back pack so I can charge while walking. Have had one for over 12 years now there is a slight loss in effectiveness but minimal.
We have more than one. Best part is holes in it do not cripple the unit it just reroutes around area so long as not where plug out is.
