We have snow.  A LOT of it!  It’s now officially Spring…..we didn’t get the memo!  Way up in the altitude, we are not yet ready to live without the furnace….or the electric-dependent pellet stove.  We’ve gotten the last propane fill we would need til late this year.  But it’s all going to depend on the electricity staying on for about another month.  At our age, it would probably be more than a hardship to survive another 30 days or so without the furnace.  After that, we’d be okay.

Other aspects of non-electric living….while harsh due to the extra energy it would require on our part….doable.  But if you struggle to sleep well in the COLD….doesn’t bode well.

I would not want anyone forced into this….but I hope they get plenty who will take the extra step to isolate and stay out of the public.  Many of us are doing that too.  No way to mingle and be sure you haven’t picked up a microbe or two.

OldMtWoman  …probably my biggest concern in all this
