    This is another blatant reason why Western Civilization has a shelf life and we are approaching the end of it.  The abject stupidity and lack of both wisdom and common sense has sealed it’s fate.  Why any right-thinking parent would want to send their little precious to one of these institutions, either there or here, is beyond me.

    If you have children approaching college age, or grandchildren, and you want them to be able to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table tell them to become a plumber…. oh, and to learn either Russian or Chinese.  Maybe both.

    Thanks, @crowbar

    @Jamesmitchner I’m so glad my homeschooled daughter opted for trade school! She is only 18 and has more common sense than most 25-year-olds these days.

    I was truly serious about my concern for these kids in the conclusion. @Selco and I were talking about it this morning and adults aren’t doing these young people any favors. Can you imagine them in a situation like what he went through?

    They’re not learning resilience if all the “bad” things are just erased. You need the minor rough times in life to teach you the coping skills to deal with the major rough times.

    It’s a sad state of affairs.

    And some day soon, they will be leaders, managers and executives.

    Well, surely not ALL these kids are getting sucked into this. Surely, not all colleges are pushing this cr*p. Some kids are probably going along to get along and revert to normal after they graduate. And I’m sure some were raised better than this. I’m sure some families are choosing schools that don’t push this cr*p.

    @no money,

    You are correct.

    My daughter learned after the election, there was a protest/riot at her campus, to keep her head down and concentrate on getting good grades.

    Based on various conversations with her, she is in the minority.

    Best phrase to use in commenting this is good old “we are all doomed”.

    I think big part of the problem, and it is not only connected to Western civilisation is thought that people are implementing to kids and young people, and it is “you are special” attitude.

    While my kid is for sure special to me, she is nothing special to the rest of the world, and if I do not raise her to have mindset ready for that she may find herself offended or scared by all caps.

    Real world is not coloring book, and kids and young folks simply need to know for that, and be in a way ready for it.

    Guess we are lucky, our oldest got accepted to a private college, no protesters.

    Then there’s the bit where she would walk right up to them and pretty much end it. She has no time for idiots and has no problem saying so.

    I’m  a little more subtle, like an OC grenade.
