“THAT GUY”
Number one reason to have a quality holster so your not “That Guy”. That Guy at best is an embarrassment and at worst gets killed because of it.You spend $300 to $2K on a handgun. Then go to a garage sale and buy a $5 fabric or an old leather used holster that “pretty much fits”. Then you go home and start practicing the draw. That dang over the hammer or back of the pistol snap strap is in the way, getting hung up and even caught up in the draw. So you cut it off.
Now your fast and getting good. So your tired and sit in the recliner and watch gunsmoke and eat Cheetos. It ain’t but a minute and your pretty sure your faster than the marshal. So you stand up, lick off most the orange dust and go to “clear leather” annnnddd there’s no gun. You look and it’s being lazy taking a nap in the recliner right where it fell out.
So now that you’ve learned the error of that you are ready to go into the wild and concealed carry. Thing is the bottom of your holster hangs below your shirt and even your jacket. Well no sense in concealing it right? Just open carry. I mean why not your almost as good at Tae Kwon Do as you are a pistolero. No one could possibly get it from ya.
So there ya are in Walmart being a force to be reckoned with like one of the 7 from The Boys and the ole number two urge hits ya. So you go in and as you drop them britches your handgun slides across the floor where the next customer hopefully picks it up and hands it back to you but most likely will run for the doors with the shiny piece of steel. I mean after all there’s a half a box of ammo in that new wonder gun extendo mag and that’s almost a quarter tank of gas in cost.
But then option number three happens and the cops show up because there’s a madman dangerously handling a weapon in a highly populated area being a nuisance at best and a threat to society at worst when you go to court to get the gun back which BTW is now empty because they ain’t giving you the ammo back unless you return the following day.
I mean hey at least your not as bad as the guy who has his in McDonald’s in his back pocket till a bad guy walked up and just took it.
So you meet your buddy for lunch who also bought a handgun about the same time you did and he asks you how you like carrying it. He listens intently as you run down the adventures of the week as you sit without it actually on your person now. Then you ask him about his adventures. He replies that he hasn’t had any issues and is carrying right now and you didn’t even know. The reason is because he spent a few dollars and got a quality retention concealed holster made specifically for his weapon.
It fits, its safe, it looks good, it’s comfortable and even when it’s not completely it’s still comforting, it holds it correctly regardless of body position and it’ll last years.
Don’t be THAT GUY or gal

Can you reholster one handed? Some models have a metal retainer on the top that help with that.
Cheaper leather holster will actually bend over into the trigger guardSAFETY WARNING! Worn Leather Holsters Can Cause Accidental Discharges!
