    Green Tomato Mince Meat

    Green Tomato Mince Meat by Izette (this is to use up green tomatoes at the end of the year)

    Green Tomatoes 1 peck chopped fine, drain and rinse in cold water

    Vinegar 1 cup

    Water 4 cups

    Cooked slowly 2 hours

    Add in :

    Raisins 2 pounds chopped

    Sugar 3 pounds

    Brown Sugar 1 pound

    Cloves 2 tablespoons

    Cinnamon 2 tablespoons

    Allspice 2 tablespoons

    Salt 2 tablespoons

    Nutmeg 1 tablespoon

    Cook 2 hours longer. Makes a very rich mincemeat.

    FYI:  A peck is 2 dry gallons 🙂
