    Nut Biscuits by Mrs Jack

    Flour 2 cups

    Salt ½ teaspoon

    Baking Powder 1 heaping teaspoon

    Butter 1 large tablespoon

Nuts meats 1 cup chopped (nut meats are shelled nuts)

    Sugar 4 tablespoons

Milk enough to make a soft dough

Sift the four , salt and baking powder together, rub in the shortening (butter in this case) and nuts chopped very fine and add the sugar and enough milk to make a soft dough .

Shape with the hands into small balls, place well apart on a greased pan, brush the tops with milk, sprinkle some of the chopped nuts on top and bake about 20 minutes in a hot oven.

The tops may be covered with water and sugar icing after baked, if desired or they may be split and jelly put between the halves or just served hot with butter

I’m getting a whole file of these.  Never know when simple basic ingredients will be all we have.

    OldMtWoman….’sides, they look GOOD!
