    There is a lot of tacti-cool Rambozman3000 out there.  Most are internet armchair generals.

    Here are a few books I highly recommend:

    Art of the Rifle, by Lt. COL Jeff Cooper

    Sight Alignment, trigger control and the big lie, by MSGT Jim Owens

    100+ Sniper Exercises, by Eduardo Abril de Fontcuberta

    The focus of these books being marksmanship vs the tacti-cool aspect.

    Take an Appleseed course.  No matter how good a rifleman you think you are, you will be a better rifleman once you complete this course!

    @James Mitchner,

    Great suggestion!

    And or compete in NRA High Power rifle.

    Actually, any formal NRA/CMP completions are good.

    Thanks for the excellent suggestions.  I did Appleseed a few years ago, but they have gone AWOL in Vermont and aren’t hosting much of anything.  I plan to do a CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) shoot this next summer.

    And I would like to add Larsen’s “Light Infantry Tactics for small teams” to the reading list.
