According to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) cited by Reuters, beginning in 2020, electricity generated by solar PV and onshore wind is set to become consistently cheaper than the most cost-effective fossil fuel alternative, without subsidies.

IF, that is true, I think that would be great.
The wife and I have talked about getting a PV system, and we have the winds to support a light wind turbine.
Anything to get us less dependent and more self-sufficient is good.

That article should have began with “Once upon a time”.  😉  I just don’t believe it regarding “renewables”.

I want to see how it plays out before I make a judgment.

Considering the cost of manufacturing the “green” energy units and the associated pollution, I am quite leery of this.
