KeymasterWelcome to September!
We had 3-4 days of rain! Two of them being nearly all day long!
Some of the trees are beginning to change color. Fall is on the way. -

ParticipantOur tomato plants got some weird fungus and I had to pull them up by the roots last week. They barely produced this summer any ways, with our lack of rain for 3 months and then 100+ temperatures. We were on a “water restriction” and “burn ban” that is STILL not off, even though we had a whole week of rain this last week that literally killed rest of the garden believe it or not. I truly believe it’s chem trails. I have NEVER seen this type of fungus on my plants. EVER. I believe we’re going to have another bad winter here in Texas, because fall came in quick last week. triple digit temps with no rain for over 3 months and then Bam, raining for days now and temps dropped dramatically. It usually doesn’t get into the 70s up here until MId or End of October. I read somewhere the government is also doing weather modification and I am truly beginnig to believe this.

Participantdidnt have luck with my tomato plants either this year! last year found these darling “candyland” tomatoes, got 2 plants, they produced lots of tiny maters! good for snacks, salads, scrambled eggs, etc. loved those things!!! so this year got 2 more plants, started out well, but within a month or two they are totally deleafed!!! still some mater flowers at top of plant, but from whole bottom up – no leaves! dont know what’s happened, so disappointed….dont see any bugs, fungus, nothing….deer cant get to them – fenced yard. any ideas?

ParticipantHi Keebler, and hope your day is nice as well.
Gosh alot’s been going on. Have an elderly who has been in and out of the hospital; and telling off the staff while in.
Weather wise. Its been raining almost daily for the past couple of weeks. We usually get something from the tropical systems.
Ants made their home in my seed starting mixture, so I got the box store early to get more.
And of course, I lost my cell phone and didnt have a back up.
I have 2 very nice everglades tomato seedlings. They are ready to repot.

Loving Life
ParticipantI haven’t check in for over a month. I have been busy. I have had lots of friends visit. With the worst of COVID over, many are venturing out.
Reading about the tomato plants with interest as my plants got rained out in August and September. I didn’t have many tomatoes this year. Some years are like that.
I also had the weirdest thing happen. Toward the end of August, a lightning strike hit my well. What a fiasco! The well guys came out and pulled the well pump, etc. My well is deep, almost 700 feet. Turns out after several repairs where I was still having issues, they discovered that it shorted out the electrical wire in the pump and between the house and pump. I didn’t have running water for almost 2 weeks. The issue is finally repaired and no issues.
I just finished cutting up some more wood. I was starting to get low as I like to have the wood season for at least one year. The temps are getting colder here. I started a fire last night and will probably be keeping a fire going for most of the next six months. I was chuckling today as I read Daisy’s post about firewood shortages. So many here are putting in wood stoves. Looks like this winter will be a chilly and expensive one for some.
Have a great weekend!

ParticipantFlorida welcomes Ian
Well not really. The entire state is either in a hurricane warning or tropical storm warning. My shutters are up. Technically they dont have to be, but I dont want 2×4’s and other objects flying through my window.
I was ready as far as supplies except for pine/cedar chips for a makeshift loo.
Hope everyone is well
