ModeratorPart of it is specialized equipment. They rarely have more than one type of trailer. Some don’t even have trailers and just work for places that do. So now that things are tight it’s harder on them.
A lot of them try and only do “hands off freight” which limits them greatly.
Hard times require change to survive
With prices the way they are no one can afford to bobtail or come home empty. You can be picky about the front load but you can’t on the backswing anymore. -

ParticipantWith fuel heading north of $9 a gallon soon most will not be able to drive at all and basic items will be beyond most peoples ability to pay for food heat meds and housing it will be a mix and match… those with a mortgage are fucked… read small printings a demand loan what will you do when they ask for the balance and no one else will finance?
Right now 90 percent of farmers I know are reducing planting or not at all other than personal.
What will you do when stores go empty or so over priced that you cant afford?
Locally we have a farmers market, there are a lot of trades and barter now between the vendors this never happened before.
We bought another tanker and filled with fuel diesel it is going to be a commodity.
With stabilizer and proper storage we can get 2 to 3 years from non bio diesel winter grade..
Can buy a used semi tractor for 30 percent less than a year ago as people try and unload before debt collapse from a combo of fuel prices sickness from vaxx and old age. Plus many are in “repair” as parts are hard to get… picked up 2 part trucks for this reason.
What we are having an issue with and are looking for is another tractor for parts.. we have 2 but want a 3rd as some farm chores impossible without tractor.
We have also started 2 steer teams for certain chores like firewood and some plow work. Need to have this worked out before hand.
Price of chicks is now 14$ per chick unsexed for buff orpingtons. It was $5,25 in feb.
Writing is on the wall things we prep for are here. I dont thinknthis will be a minor hiccup I think this has all.the hallmarks of the end of society as we know it and a massive restructuring is under way no matter how you vote or protest as those things do nothing. God bless and keep your powder dry and your family safe.
Man can not live on bread alone but on the word of the lord. Best get right with your maker or the god of your choice… the dieing time is nearly here.

ModeratorYes sir tractor parts are impossible to find. Even small things like shackle pins are in short supply.
We’ve got another dozen incubator chicks cooking now and will do a couple batches more before winter.
EVERYONE planted less cash crops but more family food, or just not all all and just hayed it out or took big loans with crop insurance to help cover
Local news last night showed one of our farmers and his hands out spreading fertilizer by hand instead of the tractor choosing triple time over price of diesel
Y’all stay safe
