Stun Guns

I bought this as a LTL option years ago. It’s a decent light with stun gun. It was more for the wife than myself however it’s been carried by both of us.
There are more and more city jurisdictions in other states banning them. I got an answer outta one on why and their reasoning was it’s been used more as an offensive tool for criminals rather than against. I live in a state where locals can’t just override state as they please but it’s sure not that way elsewhere.

Pros: lightweight, actually a decent flashlight, the physiological factor is a deterrent, it’s rechargeable

Cons: illegal in some jurisdictions, you must make contact for it to be effective with the charge, they don’t always work nor do they knock people out like in the movies

 

So do y’all carry one? If so which ones and why?

I have a couple of the vipertek minis. Small and lighweight enough to carry while walking the pup and in a bag. Holds a charge very well.

Haven’t been a fan of “stun guns” since my days in PD blue.

The jail got a good one.
The Sgt in charge was showing it to me in front of a bunch of prisoners and said “go ahead”.

After looking at him funny, he nodded. So I fired thing up

and jammed it into my thigh. It tickled somewhat but I just stood there.
The prisoners were able to watch me from @15’ away, needless to say, my reputation was solidified then and there.
