I’m just wondering what Daisy and others think of starting something like a “tactical matters” sub heading?
Something where we could discuss matters like re-taking one’s home, or my post elsewhere on ideas for dealing with air superiority.I’d also like to recommend the Larsen’s book, Light infantry tactics for small teams. It’s a great starting place that covers the basics in a solid and easily accessible way.
I’ve also read Max Velocity’s “Contact”, but have to say that while having a ton of info, it is too extensive. It’s arrangement isn’t as accessible, it’s not particularly user friendly, and is more likely to lead to paralysis by analysis.
Mind you, I do not mean to put down the work or the author. The work is great if you have want to read this for enjoyment and have the time, or if you already a solid tactical foundation.
But for myself, busy working, raising kids, homesteading…. it was too much. Larsen’s book was a much faster and simpler read. -
That might be interesting , provided that it stays within the realm that people are not soldiers , or will ever have the same support system that a soldier has . Suggestions on gear to get now , based on general survival use , as well as tactical . For example : my SHTF weapon of choice is the AK . This is why I get modern Russian web gear ( Smersh ), as its AK based , but on the same web harness , I have pouches for four Enola Gaye , EG18 smoke grenades , they are cold burn , making them more useful in a building , as it will not burn it down . Where I live , and the surroundings of the state , has determined my choice of clothing , which is German flecktarn based . This might be fun . People living in different areas of the country , will have different needs and priorities , as well as different problems to overcome . After living in the Southwest desert for a portion of my life , I can tell you that environment is very , very , difficult to plan for , on many levels , as the land is all but worthless , not providing much of anything , not even cover .

While we are talking new forums , as pointed out by others , a helpful forum to add , would be something like a ” site topic ” section . That way people could start a thread strictly pertaining to the operation , or any concerns dealing with this site , so people wouldn’t have to try to figure out what forum to bring up a site related issue , that doesn’t really fit into any category . Plus it would be easier for you guys to find any such threads , that might be otherwise buried in another section .
