One question I have is why is higher education costing so much more?
From what I have seen, and when I was in college, a lot of these universities have become some think akin to Club Med.
Gyms, pools, recreation areas. Your own room and share a private bath.
When I was in college, the dorm was more like a military barracks with a communal bath down the hall.Healthcare, yeah, it is an insurance racket and needs fix. Obamacare only made it worse.
Housing, I posted an article about a couple who bought a 3 bedroom one and a half bath house. Based off the pic, that house had to be close to 2,000sqft, for 2 people. For $438k.
That is just plain dumb.A number of people want to blame capitalism, or wealth disparity.
I blame globalism. Off-shoring jobs till nothing is left but low paying jobs.
But here is the dichotomy: People want well paying jobs, but dont want to buy higher priced Americans goods. They rather goto Wal-Mart for cheap China made stuff.Just my 2 cents.

Well when you consider what debt they have racked up the number may be correct. Or not.
But is that a correct view to be to be considering? Our net worth just changed with the new assessors report. And our oldest going to college. It will change over the summer and again around Christmas time.
For the next 4+ years, the oldest will have a net worth of hundreds. Thank heaven for scholarships.
After that, and the next 2-4 years, if she plays her cards right, she will come out worth nothing. But will have a million dollar education.
My problem with most modern educations, is that they do not prepare one for a career. A degree in Women’s studies is not a career path.
