Looks like this just might not be economic saber rattling anymore.
My question is, how much stuff do we really need from China?
Some will (and are) screaming about how much more they will have to pay for stuff . . . and usually it is just stuff. Plastic pumpkins no one actually needs. It is that shiny stuff people impulse buy to make themselves feel better for a fleeting moment, believing it really makes they lives that much better. Anyone remember the Ronco Salad Shooter?

I stopped buying “Made in China” products long ago.

What many do not realize is that there are a lot of other countries itching to take business away from China.  A lot of companies have already made arrangements with places like Taiwan, Viet Nam, India, Indonesia to fill the void.  China is screwing itself.  With billions of workers that need employment, social unrest is certain to follow any slow downs or lay offs.  When there are customers, as there are in the US, other manufacturers will be eager to supply the demand for cheap goods. The US is not China’s bitch.

Honestly considering the volume of junk that we import and the trifling amount that we export to China, Jinggang telling it’s employees to avoid US items is a drop in the bucket.

Posturing and posing, much ado about nothing.

Well, if the article is accurate then 74% of what US companies make in China, is sold to a Chinese consumer.

If they stop buying US companies products that are made in China . . . seems to me they will be shooting themselves in the foot.

If US companies look to other countries for production, then there will be an out flow of capital from China to those other countries.

4 reasons why China won’t use ‘nuclear option’ of selling Treasurys to retaliate against U.S.

They are wrong no one will flock to us treasuries, the risk is absurdly high with near zero returns. Russia eu and india have not bought only sold off treasuries biggest buyer i is the fed who went into negative liquidity with a .1/ 4 percent hike in interest rate on treasuries. The losses of 44 billion + now to get rest of world to buy you would need a 2 to 3 percent… that would wipe out us gdp all of it would pay interest only on debt.

If it was me in china’s position I would make a public sale ever increasing sell wait for interest rates to go up then shadow buy back at fractions on a dollar as dumping occurs only to hold un repayable treasuries use the Clinton eminent  domain rights and buy up the distressed farm land and wild fire land I n heartland  and cali…. would cripple usa or start ww3
