The migrant caravan that broke through the Honduran border of Mexico is now 7000 people strong. There’s no good ending for this if they try and charge through the US border.

Stretching for miles, 7,000-strong migrant caravan treks through stifling heat in southern Mexico
Without being political – I’m NOT and you guys please don’t either – the options are not good. (No screaming about “liberals” and “conservatives” or the term of the day here. We’re talking about preparedness and how this event could affect us.)

If they attempt to breach the border, it’s going to be a bloodbath. I certainly don’t want to see people killed, but I see no other way that the border patrol would react to a large group trying to violently break through a guarded entry point. The result of a massacre at the border will be widespread civil unrest in the US, as tensions regarding immigration are already very high.

This is something to watch in the upcoming weeks, and interestingly, the timing of them reaching our border is about the same time as the election. Huh.

There is now legal reason to station US troops , this IS an invasion by a foreign power . The people who are coming know they are not wanted . Mexico has failed , that does not mean we have to tolerate this purposeful invasion . This is a hostile act . Shooting may well be required . Bad thing is we have to do it to protect our country , good thing is , after its done , they will know we are serious . I hate to say it , but its like that playground bully that won’t stop until he gets a bloody nose ………..then you have his attention , if not respect . Nations are like children in many ways .

310,000 apprehensions in fiscal 2017 by US Border Patrol. 7,000 migrants is a drop in the bucket!

The number of invaders in this mob have grown considerably. I guess we need the CIA to stage an event at the head of the parade.

When you consider how much food, water, etc. is required to sustain 7,000 people walking over a 1,000 plus miles in a hot dry invironment, you realize that some person or entity with deep pockets is behind this. The question is who stands to benefit the most by sponsoring this caravan. Humh

    BUT:
It will get a lot of press whatever happens. Remember, bread and circuses happen during a societal collapse. Wouldn’t want people to pay attention to what’s actually happening all around them.

I saw pictures posted on Zerohedge of men in white t-shirts handing out money to people in the caravan.

There are just so many things going on with this at once. I’m completely torn because while I understand what some of them are running from and hoping to find here (or anywhere but there) I want to throw up a damn wall myself because we can barely handle the people we got here. Actually that is wrong. We can not handle the ones here. Not when you got people working during the day and living at the local Walmart parking lot at night because they can’t afford to live in an actual home! Our local Walmart put up port-a-potties for the people to use so they would stop going in the bushes. Something really wrong with that picture!

No matter what it is going to be very ugly before it is all done.

Someone is sponsoring this group, how else could so many people move forward with the group growing as they go. Very large group to provide food/water for without some planned resources. I don’t understand why people would travel that far, some with children knowing they are being asked/told to turn around. It breaks my heart to know some of these people are being used for political reasons. Some have an agenda for a better life and others have the purpose to cause disruption. Either way, I’m afraid people are going to be hurt at the boarder.

The start of Red Dawn? Notice it is mostly violent young men. They hide behind women and a few children. There are videos of them breaking down gates and fences. Its an invasion. We would accept some if they did it legally, but obviously they have something to hide.

It’s a gift to America from Venezuela. Notice how none of the lamestream news media are making a big deal about this? You would expect wall to wall coverage if this were a Soros funded, media hyped get trump event. This is more like a foreign actor who is challenging American sovereignty. A “payback” from someone who’s had their affairs meddled with. I don’t believe that this is a publicity stunt at all. It’s more like an invasion, or a “Golden Hoard”.

Trump administration has not settled on a plan for what to do if the migrant caravan arrives at the US border

I came across this breathtakingly arrogant quote while trying to figure out why Mexico is not bringing its considerable resources to bear to stop this illegal caravan:

In his campaign, Mexican President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador defended the human rights of migrants, and his incoming undersecretary for immigration, Alejandro Encinas, has already declared that Mexico is “not going to chase migrants. We are not going to criminalize them. We have to stop looking at immigration as an issue of public security or national security, or the national security of the United States.”

Mexico can do little to stop the migrant caravan, no matter what Trump claims

“National security” — and sovereign borders — must be defined differently down there. Trump has his work cut out for him to resolve this mess.

Another take on the Migrant Caravan. The part that grabbed my eye:

Most members of the migrant caravans come from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador – three countries devastated by violence, organised crime and systemic corruption, the roots of which can be traced back to the region’s cold war conflicts.

Here it is: The unseen driver behind the migrant caravan: climate change

    Here’s my take.

Both the government and the nation will lose if there is any violent confrontation, accidental or otherwise, that results in migrant women or children being harmed. Such an event could easily be the trigger that implodes our country or could even lead to world war.

If you accept that premise, then you’ll agree that our only way out of this mess without making a YUGE mess will require some out-of-the-box thinking. I’m about as far out of the box as one can get and still be walking the streets, so here goes.

I think our military should meet these folks at the border with open arms and politely explain that we will NOT be granting any of them asylum, amnesty, citizenship or anything else except 3 options:

    1. Go home (as some already have)
    2. Apply for asylum in Mexico (as some already have)
    3. Apply for asylum in Canada.

wait, wut??? Asylum in Canada? How does that work.

Simple. (cept for the pesky details)

    1. We offer to escort them, en masse, quickly and safely to the Canadian border…say near Vancouver. Isn’t this pretty much what the Mexicans have done, with assistance from certain organizations and even the United Nations? Well shucky darn, why can’t we do the same? What’s good for the Mexican is good for the Yankee, right? Heck, those organizations and the UN can help offset the cost! The US is no place for poor oppressed refugees anyway…according to the press clippings we are the Great Satan and fixing to implode economically and politically as a nation…why would anyone want to try to start over in an obviously dying empire? Canada is the place they outta be, Jed!

    2. Oh my, what if Canada won’t take them? Hmmm…that seems like their problem…and that of the UN and everyone else who uprooted these folks to make this journey for asylum from their home countries. I’m sure the UN and all those organizations, now joined by our own government, will put plenty of pressure on those mean Canucks to take in all these good people, right? Maybe some nice resolutions and sanctions will help them see the light.

    3. So in the meantime, while we spend hours/days/months/years negotiating and bullying Canada to let these people in, we still have all these people here. Yes we will, but not nearly many as we’d have if we were forced to fold and take them in. Word gets around…I know I wouldn’t be too thrilled to volunteer for a long journey to some refugee camp on the US-Canadian border. The number of follow-up caravans will dwindle to nothing. Yes, that’s where we’re going to have to keep those that accept our offer of escort to Canada – refugee camps, preferably right on the Canadian border. Would you want travel thousands of miles to rot in a refugee camp where they have, OMG WINTER!! Me thinks not many will want to take the Canada option.

    4. Of course the classic refugee camp isn’t our only option. There are a lot of good, migrant-loving, progressive people living in the northwest US. I am sure a city like Seattle, proud of its progressive creds, would be thrilled to take thousands of poor, hapless, refugees into their homes and public spaces, right? Costs? No worries, once again the fine people in the UN and all the organizations currently funding these caravans will step in to foot the bill…because they really, sincerely care about these people, right? It’s just temporary…until Canada grants them asylum! Hmm, I also see a business opportunity here…coyotes don’t just live in the southwest…I’m sure lots of enterprising folks will earn extra income smuggling asylum seekers into Canada! Whoa, maybe Detroit would be a better location, lord knows half the state of Michigan could use more economic opportunities!

So there is is….we don’t stop them, we simply escort them to a better destination – CANADA!

As Confucius would have said if he were me, “When in between rock and hard place, climb rock and toss in enemy.”

Nobody in their right mind would play games with the Soviet Union , if they had a choice . Why ? Because they knew they had absolutely no qualms about doing ” it ” . Like that scene in ” A Bronx tale ” , ” Its better to be feared than loved , because fear lasts longer than love ” . We stop them cold from entering , brutally if need be , then they will take us seriously from here on out . Mexico will be forced to deal with them , if they are held on their soil , long enough .

This could go really well or really badly, re: the armed civilians.

As a voluntaryist, I really like the idea of everyday folks stepping up.

I hope that the military being deployed there don’t see the armed citizens as a threat.

If they do , they need to look at what they swore an oath to . If they do , then we need to look at THEM as an enemy of the people .
