Well not unexpected….we did well we broke even.

Problem is if land not sold /rented by next year the land if not planted will lose top soil but will also start reversing back to not farm able if not fixed before year 5. There will be scrub tree and nuisance weed farm which drops value considerably and is alot to fix in cost and effort.

Long before the trade war, many farms/farmers were existing on farm loans to get from one harvest to the next. The trade war is a convenient excuse.

No crops or livestock this year and the bank is taking it in the shorts, unlikely to foot the bill again next year. Now you can’t pay the bills and don’t have enough to replant or replace, what do you do?

    Here is a dark thought.

    <<START>>>

What do you do? You start a war. 🙂

Stimulates the invading countries’ economy see.

Where? Africa is a good place to give it a go. Zimbabwe can again become the “breadbasket of Africa”, or rather,  “breadbasket” of the invading country.

    <<END>>

    🙂

Look at the presence of not only the US, but China.

All I can say is where we live, it used to be all farm land and few houses. Now most of the farmland has been sold off as farmers children no longer want to work the farms so as the parents pass on the kids sell to the hightest bidder. Then here come the houses, Appartments and retail stores. We are no longer country, but now urban. And at the rate they are building we will be a town within the next 7 to 10 years or worse. I am looking to move from here one day.  Am already looking around at different places. Ozarks are looking good.

Big problem is if we become like Venezuela, and import most of our food.

TTT, Zim was once the breadbasket of Africa, under another name. However I doubt that the Chinese owners would let a war go on long, if at all, it would cut into their profits too much.
