The chart is a good one.
Not sure if it will result in real socio-economic problems in China.
I am more looking toward what will the impact be globally and here in the US, after the last spring bad weather some states/farmers experienced. -
Here, we need to look at what the Chinese owned Smithfield foods is exporting to the homeland.
Otherwise, I am not overly concerned about the pork shortage. In some respects it allows US farmers the opportunity to sell some pork on the hoof as it were.

@WB, I dunno.
I am looking more at it from the poor spring planting season the midwest had, increase in feed prices, many farmers may sell off their stock (hog, cattle, poultry) to avoid paying high feed prices.
In the short term, we may see end consumer costs drop from a increase of those meats coming to market.
But the following year, as the farmers/ranchers have to build their breed stock back up, we may see a spike in meat costs.
And IF we have another bad spring, oh, boy. Then things get real interesting.
The wife and I are getting at least 2 hogs next year. If friends/neighbors feel the same as we, might get a third one for them. -
It would be kind of an entertaining thing , to see China collapse , like the Soviet Union did . Nobody thought it would happen , but when it did , it was very fast .

Maybe but not before they sell off the 1.2 trillion in us treasuries causing usa to collapse in attempting to save themselves.
They are looking at 800 billion in farming investment , Russia building green houses so fast you can see from space.. fast food places buying and building green houses .. gotta wonder if we then people not being told something nah could not be that.
It would never be a bio weapon release into food systems to cause a collapse would it? Or our blatant disregard for animal welfare and overuse of antibiotics… what ever it is it is a perfect storm brewing and no one gets out unscathed. Got a plan and back ups cause this is going to test you to the max and no one will be spared. Mazlo hierchy of needs food and water are the base.
Oil we fight savagely over ask the vets who have been in sandbox what the fight is over its not oil it’s water and grazing tribal warfare to survive. Then think in this sissfied, I deserve , society with zero farming skills but 1 % and even those with only equipment how long before the anarchy begins 3 or 6 missed meals?
Remember china’s economy if false their gdp goes to the govrrnment not the tiny tax percentage the us government gets. Wonder why a Chinese mayor has tons of gold and millions of usd in cash? Believe me if possible guys here would do same but there is not as much to steal. The average worker makes $300 usd a month rest goes to cronies and government.
