We need to quit insuring people that build in locations that are not safe.  Why is the government giving anyone who lives below 20′ above sea level flood insurance, and making us subsidize it?  We know the oceans are on track to rise 20′, we should not rebuild in those areas, seems like common sense.

Or make the housing properly built for enviromental extremes in that area. No trailers or stick made houses in tornado alley …. no square buildings In hurricane  area. On flood plain should be only farmer housing rest don’t need to be there. Earthquake resistant housing like Japan.

Only one way to deal.with it pay to build your home right then refused insurance.

I read that Bahamas require buildings for Cat 4 hurricane.  🙁  They lost that gamble.  Then there is the area known as……was known….as The Mud?  Sounds like folks just making do anyway they could there.  Not much left of that.  Hope they evacuated.

I’d like those cement dome homes for hurricane or tornado alley.  At least for part of the home.
