Has anyone else seen or heard of this? Truckers are posting on social media (FB, Tiktiok, YouTube) they plan to strike in response to the election. The dates are variable. Some dates say the 11th and mostly others say the 29th.

Not on social media of that kind (just small stuff like here).
But I have heard others say the same, protests, strikes etc.

Imagine if all/most of the truckers who deliver food to all the cities stop trucking . . . could be interesting.

They might want to be careful , they might find themselves out of a job . Trucking schools keep pumping those guys out , right and left .

I’ve got an article coming up on this tomorrow – a few sources have been located. It sounds like it’s for real. And talk about adding disaster on top of disaster.

Here’s what I’ve been able to find out about the trucker strike so far. I think it’s definitely going to happen but only with independent truckers – not the fleet truckers. That could limit the impact but it’s impossible to say.

My next door neighbor is an independent trucker driver. I definitely know he will support whatever strike is called. If half this country thinks they are going to stop oil production/fracking and all the supplemental jobs surround trucking by voting for the Democrat ticket, they may have another think coming. These guys are for real. Trucking is a hard life, especially for the long-distance truckers. I think it rather interesting that somewhere over 70 MILLION folks voted for President Trump and other down- ballot Republicans, and those who voted voted for Democrats think all these Patriots are going to just roll over and say okay….lets unite behind the Democrats policies. I read their plans for the first 100 days in office which include mandating a national “you will wear a mask;” you will not gather in groups which includes going to church; we will not allow you to keep your “non-essential” business open, but we’ll allow you to go to Walmart anytime you want….ad infinitum. I’ve now been blocked twice by FaceBook for inappropriate comments. I think I called one particular Utah Republican politician “despicable” and the hateful-speech patrol definitely didn’t like that. Yet, I’m being called deplorable, racist, bigot and other such names but apparently that okay. ROFLOL!!! Whatever. Daisy if you need to block me that’s okay. I joined ya’ll a little over a year ago and I wish I could show you how prepared I am now for whatever is coming down the road. Thank you for all the great info and I love all the folks I’ve met on The Organic Prepper. Be blessed!

Muffy – no need to block you, but I’ll ask you to please keep political comments in the politics area of the forum. This part of the forum is for non-partisan discussion because we want EVERYONE to be prepared.

Daisy, I work with a company whose products are delivered via truck (not USPS).  Our company warned us that during the holiday season we should expect delays due to the volume of online shopping that is expected to happen.  Now I am wondering if that was a polite way to say that a strike is expected.

I will be checking with my son in law about the strikes. He manages a food distribution company.  That would not help if we go through food shortages again, not that around here we still have them.

My daughter and I have always taken a day and gone Christmas shopping. We do it every year. It’s like a tradition for us. We start at 6am and go have breakfast and then get started with our shopping. Sometimes not getting home before 10 or 11 pm.  This year will be so different. We are not going to do our shopping trip this year in part because they are moving away due to her husband’s job promotion and also because of my DH not being able to stay by himself all day.  And then there is the Corvid virus.  So we have decided since all the kids are grown with 3 not living around here now. We will just do money and gift cards. And have a big get together. Though 3 of them will not be able to come. One in CA, one in Washington state and one stationed in N. Carolina. and that one not sure if can come yet. Never know about military.  So lots of big changes for us and I am sure for many others as well. Sad times indeed because of this virus.

Nothing on the CB about the strike today. I’m on it going and coming from work. I mostly listen.
Fox News just picked it up and broadcast it though so it could pick up steam from that.

Day 1 operation was apparently a failure as no one even knew about it and the response on the CB was along the lines of Nope we got bills to pay, Christmas is coming and the possible president is going to shut things down so we gotta make some money.

Well, I was on part of a interstate when the strike was to happen.
I still saw trucks on the road.
    But the volume seemed less.

Then again, so did non-commercial vehicles too.
