    Maybe the un realistic expectation is the over $50 for two sandwiches and the beer?

    I moved from a city where average 50 year old house a tear down was selling for 2 million. Two 100k a year incomes could not pay the mortgage. This was driven by forgien money and bank unregulated expansion of credit through dubious means.  It can’t hold yet people still want to move there, rental for a 1200 sqft apt with a view and 2 parking spaces is $3200 a month.

    I also don’t get his opinion that the top 5 percent deseve to get the lions share of the wealth or is it me reading something in that was not there?

    When you look and see banking is a major gdp percent you know economy is going to tank… banking is a parasite on everyone.

    A good read as well as a scary one.  I think Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) is right on target with his stated position that college may not be for everyone and that a good plumber may make more money than a Phd.  The ‘trades’ are going wanting.  As a consequence of that shortage, skilled workers in the trades are still keeping a roof over their heads and food on the table.

    The only fact that is maintaining the current economy according to some is the further acquisition of more personal debt.  The frightening thing about that is that according to the US Labor Dept., 49% of American workers earn only $30K or less annually.

    @namelus,
    He is saying that it is getting harder and harder to get into the top 5%, whom earn the lions share. He is not saying they deserve it.

    @James,
    Yep, that is what I was thinking.
