I am located in Phoenix AZ, in a suburban neighborhood. Due to family medical constraints bugging in is the plan. I see mountains of information out there about surviving in a variety of COLD situations. Almost nothing for 118 degrees. Water of course is the primary concern, and shade. Is there anyone else trying to figure out desert shtf

You need a deep basement or a root cellar. If you can get down 12′ below the surface, you can avoid most of the day’s heat.

Basements don’t really happen here in AZ. Back in NY where I hail from originally every house had one. I have been in AZ since 1978 and have encountered 2 homes that have basements. In a perfect world that would be awesome. I am looking to plant some shade trees around the house, to keep sun out out
