Just got done reading Selco’s article “Power of Media” May 6 2013.

    In he says,

“I read different news articles from different networks and try to find people on Twitter who are on the ground of the event”.

Now I have to admit I’ve never used twitter. So, does anyone have tips on using it? How does one find local news?

If you have hashtags for a specific event or location it can help, but following the local reporters and emergency services twitter accounts were more fruitful for me.

I still check in with Twitter occasionally but didn’t find it very useful locally since we don’t live in a city. Plus, there is a lot of lying and just garbage out there. I did get my HAM radio operator’s license and have much better information listening to the dispatches via my handheld.
