I carry a lot but want for little when IT happens or I’m working. In addition to the factory jack I carry a 8 ton hydraulic jack and a high lift jack. The high lift can also be used to pull as a winch.
I carry a medium shovel and my army folding shovel.</div>
I carry 2 pieces of board one a small 2×4 as extra lift and a larger piece for either a jack platform in soft soil or to go under a tire. I carry a piece of Air Force temporary runway material to go under the tire.
An air compressor for re-inflating the tires. You lower the air pressure to get a larger footprint in sand and snow/ice.
Small straps and chain and shackles because invariably the person I’m pulling out has nothing to hook on their vehicle.
A large 30ft chain and a 30 ft 10K lb tow strap each which have uses in different scenarios.
A 30ft 10K lb stretch rope and 2 soft shackles from Tactical Recovery Equipment that are going to be my main go to on stuck vehicles. They send it in a nice carry bag too.</div>
A hand saw and machete to clear stuff and/or make fill in material for traction
A 2 ton come along for winching. One day I’ll get a winch setup but even then this tool stays because of work as well as a secondary sideways pulling line on steep recoveriesEmergency Tire Zip Ties for extra traction

Rubber boots because mud
An actual pulling shackle for the receiver because tow balls can snap off on hard repeat pulls especially those 3K lb ones everyone grabs because they are cheaper

I’m interested in what carry/use.
I’ve got a ton of experience between military and civilian life. Remember 4×4 doesn’t mean “off road”. That’s the one that gets everyone.
My last famous words are “I Can Make It” 😂

A good discussion on different types of jacks
I carry the stock factory Jack, a high lift and a 8 ton hydraulic bottle Jack.
I don’t have an airbag Jack like he shows nor any intention of getting one right now
how bout y’all? Whatya carry?
