No more .224/5.56 or handgun ammo once they are out.

Dick’s sporting goods also is going to put limits on things and both Walmart and Kroger said they will no longer allow open carry into their stores.

Not a great loss , their selection at the stores I have been to , was extremely limited , even for shotguns . I buy in bulk , on line , so it doesn’t really affect myself , or a lot of other people . Besides , where there is money to be made , somebody will pick up the slack . Even Walmart couldn’t compete with some on line prices .

Them not selling ammo isn’t a problem or concern for me; i have an issue with then now “asking” customers who live in open vcarry states to not carry in the store. I don’t have a concealed carry (but I passed the class, can’t afford the fees) so I open carry all the time especially at Wal-Mart even before.
I’d like to be able to say I won’t shop there but it’s the only place to get a couple things I need. Honestly, I’m a bit ticked off about it but don’t want a hassle by someone calling the law.
What’s y’alls opinion?

If it is an open carry state, the company/corporation does not like it, they should consider leaving.

We don’t get our ammo at Walmart, so no biggie. We’ve been phasing out Walmart shopping as much as possible anyway, so it’s not a huge sacrifice at this point.
My husband has always carried open, as we live in a Constitutional Carry state. Walmart may “ask” folks in this area not to carry openly, but I don’t think they’ll get much compliance from the locals.

Why are folks still shopping at Chinamart anyways?
I am going to be 5 years since I last stopped in a Chinamart.
Ironically my last purchase was rifled slugs for my semi-auto shotgun, hehehe I get the last laugh.
All of these dumb and anti-American stores ran by leftist leadership that goes with the leftist agenda’s needs to stop getting our business. Seek alternative methods and ways to shop. Heck, gas prices are low, travel a little more miles to avoid these places.
I refuse to be lectured of what I can do or buy from these so-called businesses. I am there to buy things I want or need, not be lectured of what is right or wrong in their eyes. STOP giving them your legal tender and support other more American businesses.

Besides politics , another reason could very well be , that it isn’t making them very much money . That part of their stores most likely just doesn’t pay for itself . One isle in volume retail is a big deal .

For a lot of people, walmart prepping is a way of life.
A bag of beans, a pound of salt, a box of (9mm/.223/etc) a week.
How many used the Walmart criteria for their choice of calibers, “if it ain’t on the shelf at Walmart, its not a good choice for prepping/survival “.

People still can , besides , if you need ammo , on line prices cant be beat , and you get a good amount from the start . I will still go there , but now , as little as possible , politics work both ways . Like YETI , I will NEVER buy any of their products , not that they are anything special to begin with . I call them ” Commie coolers ” . We are starting to see backlash now . ” Get woke , go broke ” . Some companies are slowly figuring out , that the left is not the majority of the nation , as propaganda would have us believe .

Yep!
That was (past tense) one of my oft quotes to use: “If you can find it at your local gun shop, a big box sporting goods store, and Wally-World then that is a good caliber to have!”Guess I cannot say that anymore.
As others have noted, I do everything I can NOT to shop at Wally-World.
