The ingredients are not in very specific amounts , Its up to individual tastes . Pretty much just as a general list . This is a good winter warmer .
In a lobster pot , boil 3 large potatoes , 4 good sized beets . Remove when cooked , then drain water . While they are cooling , cut up 1 head cabbage , put in pot . 1 bag broccoli tips , add water ( only 1/3 way up ! ) , add 1 can tomato paste , 1 can tomato sauce , garlic powder , pepper , cumin , 2 beef bullion cubes ( soft , not the flavored salt type ) , half bag lentils , let boil . Grate 3 large carrots , 1 large onion finely chopped , peel and cube the beets . Add all three to large frying pan . Add generous amounts of olive oil to pan , with another can tomato paste . Add pepper , salt , cumin , garlic powder , a little water . Fry and stir until cooked down a bit . Add the fried mixture to pot , You want all the oil and other juices to go in as well . Cube potatoes , add t pot , tun heat down to low . Simmer for 45 min . Optional is 1 tblsn of the hot Chinese chili garlic paste . Add water as you see fit , I like a more hearty blend , but its up to you .
Once dished out , eat as is , or add a dollop of sour cream to it , for a more traditional taste .
