I’ve been thinking about a January Challenge. Usually I do a stockpile challenge for January but with things being so tense, I don’t want to encourage people to eat their stored supplies.
A lot of people decide in January to work on getting healthier. Some want to be stronger, some want to lose weight – we have all sorts of different goals. If I could put together a prepper-centric challenge that would work for beginners and could be adapted for people who are in better shape, would any of you guys be in?

I am in!
This year with the weather being wonky, normally I am doing a lot of snowshoeing or cross country skiing.
Well, tonight we are supposed to get rain (there goes the snow) and it is in the 30s and even 40s for the rest of the week, the weekend and Monday.
So, I need to do something.
A few holiday pounds is not unusual, but I think this is a bit more than I wanted. -

Would love to do it. But don’t think at this point with DH’s bad health, I would be able to keep it up. But I do like the idea. Maybe once we find out what is going on with him and hopefully get him turned around health wise, I could get back into doing these challanges as well as getting back into some serious prepping. Need to take inventory. Now just isn’t the time.

Littlesister, I appreciate your input and it brings to light a very real issue for many people – we’ve got stuff going on and may not have tons of time. You’ve inspired me to try and set it up where everyone can participate at least to some degree. I’m hoping your hubby feels better quickly.
I will start working on this, guys š

Maybe start things by getting baseline for everyone and set goalsĀ as a percentage of the baseline?
The biggest things in my thoughts for prepper physical is cardio endurance, flexibility expecially as I get older no stretching means pain. And walking.
A how long till you are winded test using exercise that su it’s your physical limitations.
Stretch is simple.just start doing them and keep track of how much change there is .
Walking pick.either a distance or time over a distance to improve on… get used to a edc bagĀ start with comfortable and add weight as you see fit over time to make it more of a challenge.
All of these can be done with regular things required in daily life.

This has been a very rough season in life….because of our elderlies….and will only stop being so after sorrows happen.Ā šĀ Ā In light of that, it’s easy to slag back and stop trying to keep up things like health/stamina/flexibility. Cuz some days, one is just trying to remember to keep breathing!Ā I would like to participate as much as I am able.

I’m all in for focusing on overall health/strength/weight/etc. A group challenge always works for me.
