LOL yeah , but look at it this way , you dont have to live in the climate they thrive in . I miss the creosote bush smell  , but not enough to make me live in the desert , ever again .

I have encountered a few plants further East In Missouri while hiking than shown

Surprising , Didnt think they would grow as far as misery . Interesting how the native tribes used those plants , from tasty food source , to baskets , and shoes . I watched a bushcrafter take one of the leaves , and simply strip off the needle , that pulled off a long fiber with it . Built in needle and thread . From what I understand , when the leaf fibers dry out , they wear like iron .

The dried stalk is great to get a coal with when using a magnifying glass
