We use the Zello app which turns you phone into a walkie talkie and uses internet signal rather than cell. It’s good like during tornadoes because the lines clog up.

Never heard of Zello app. But I guess freedom of speech is going to affect everything. We will all be shut down in one way or another. communism at it’s best. Country has gone to hell in a hand basket. I haven’t been able to keep up with everything but enough to know we are heading down a very slippery slope. And it is going to be a dangerous one.

It’s great in the capacity I’m referencing it to use in and apparently not great for other applications as an alternate comms

It worked well for checking on my buddy in Lake Charles during Hurricanes Laura and Delta. Storms knocked out cell towers, but I could still get through to him with Zello.

That’s great to hear. I appreciate that feedback. Any type of information in events like that is gold to emotions.
The furthest we’ve used it is from central Oklahoma o NW New Mexico around Shiprock.
